Williams Lineages Underway

This section is for people to post the various Williams lineages they are working on. This is an effort to publicize that brick wall you may or may not be hitting in hopes of finding others who either have information or are at the same wall. This section is now in a database and to make surfing the entries easier, I have set it up to display 15 lineages at a time. Simply use the next and previous buttons to navigate around!

And, as another improvement to the site, you can now add your own lineage to the list without having to email me directly! Simply visit the lineage submission form and follow the instructions! It's as easy as that!

I began to research the Williams side and seemed to hit a brick wall with my third great-granddad.
Here is my lineage to him in a nutshell
Joe Medford Williams (my father) 20 Dec 1932
Archie Williams (11 Mar 1905-9 Mar 1995)
Joseph "Joe" Williams (14 Dec 1878 - 13 Feb 1953)
James "Jim" Madison Williams (29 Jan 1849-12 Jul 1942)
William J. Williams (29 Jan 1828 - 29 jan 1888)

-William J. Williams is the roadblock. I looked up Nancy Hereford to see if that might have been his wife, but dates did not jive. All I could find for a spouse was Katherine (unknown surname)

If anyone has any information I would truly be thankful.

Doug Williams

Looking for the parents and ancestors of James H. Williams, born 22 Sep 1818 probably in TN but maybe in VA; married around 1839 Lucy Ann Kinningham; died 29 Aug 1889 in Manchester City, Coffee Co, TN. 1850 census said he was a taylor in Coffee Co., TN with no real estate value. 1860 and 1870 censuses he was in Manchester, Coffee, TN. 1880 census he was living in Manchester with his son, Allison. Any help would be very much appreciated. There were other James Williams persons living around this time in this area, so it is difficult to track down his family.

Researching Williams family in north Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and Arkansas. My grandfather was Edwin Williams, son of John Wesley 'Tobe' Williams, of Ruston, Louisiana. His father was Elekious Williams, although I only ever heard him called "Leakey". My Brick Wall seems to be that I am looking for evidence of connection beyond Leakey as well as something to confirm his name. Most people I have been in contact with have connected him with Electious Williams, but even that I am not sure of.

My last confirmed Williams is Howell Thomas Williams, born in VA. He married Mellissa Lampton in Perry County Ohio 1850s. He was a veteran of the civil war and died sometime after he returned 1865-1870. I have no other clues.
